Expansion of Reverse Osmosis plant and provision of RO permeate polisher

A new RO polisher was designed from the ground up and integrated into the existing RO frame. The polisher was close coupled to the RO permeate stream, with the ability to bypass the polisher if required. Once the RO permeate was polished it is sent to storage. It is then utilised for the flushing and CIP of both membrane plants.

A volume metering chemical dosing system was designed and installed to provide up to five different chemical supply steams to chemicals to each of the membrane plants.

A new control system was developed and implemented. Both plants are visualised controlled through a SCADA system utilising a recipe-based approach and including a full historian. The PLC is an Siemens based architecture with the VSD drives controlled via Profinet.

Enquire now

What is an RO?
An RO plant is a water purification system that uses reverse osmosis to remove dissolved salts and impurities from water.
What is a polisher?
An RO polisher plant is a system that further purifies reverse osmosis water by removing the last traces of impurities to achieve very high purity water.
What's the benefit of being close coupled?
The benefit of two membrane plants being close coupled is that they minimise pumping losses and maximise overall energy efficient water recovery.
What's the benefit of automated chemical dosing?
Automated chemical dosing improves process reliability by delivering the right amount of chemicals consistently without human error.
